RVA is developed by researchers at the Illinois State Geological Survey, the Department of Computer Science, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, all within the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Development of RVA is supported in part by the US Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory under contract DE-FE0005961.
RVA is designed for advanced 3-D visualization and analysis of data and simulation results for unconventional oil reservoirs. Targeted visualization feature development will allow for simultaneous visualization of multiple fluid phases, fluid properties, reservoir properties and borehole data. Key analysis features will include advanced querying of fluid and reservoir properties.
RVA is designed and available as a plugin to Paraview v.3.14,an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application.
